Spanish Honor Society
Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, originally named the National Spanish Honor Society, invites students to become members when they have advanced their Spanish proficiency to the intermediate mid level by the end of their sophomore year, while maintaining an honors average in all classes. Language proficiency level is determined by their results on the STAMP exam which assesses students’ ability to read, write, speak and listen in Spanish. The induction ceremony takes place each fall. Members organize community service projects, including the annual September 11th Ceremony and a toiletry collection for a local shelter.
